How do companion cards and the pity ceiling work?
Companion multipliers compound, so filling all three slots matters more than upgrading one card. Pack prices rise by world, and the Alien Planet pack carries a pity ceiling that guarantees the top roll within a fixed number of pulls, which is why Emeralds are worth saving for that pack.
Anime Breaker Companions and Card Packs
Companions are the largest multiplier layer an ordinary player can buy with in-game Gold, and the card packs that sell them are priced per world. This page covers the rarity ladder, the one pity rule the game actually states, and how to spend so that early Gold keeps paying later.
Why multipliers beat upgrades
Damage here is assembled by multiplying layers together rather than adding them. Your weapon adds a flat number, but every companion you equip multiplies the total, and so does your avatar, your race passive and your Class Tree nodes. That single fact drives every spending decision in the game: a second multiplier is worth more than a bigger version of the first one.
Companions multiply rather than add, so an empty slot is the most expensive thing on your account.
Cheap cards beat one expensive card on the same budget, because three slots multiply three times.
This is the decision the opening zone never teaches, and the reason most accounts stall there.
The one pack with published rules: Alien Planet
Alien Planet is the only world where both the spin price and the pity rule are stated in the game itself rather than inferred. That makes it the only pack you can budget against precisely, and the only pool we can list in full.

The hard floor cost of forcing that Legendary: 500 spins at 50 Gold.
| Companion | Rarity band | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Earthling Fighter | Common | Alien Card |
| Namekian Warrior | Rare | Alien Card |
| Strongest Human | Epic | Alien Card, low chance |
| Saiyan Prince (Vegeta) | Legendary | Alien Card, low chance |
| Hidden Potential (Gohan) | Mythic | Alien Card or Time Trial |
| Golden Emperor (Frieza) | Secret | Hidden elite, very low chance |
The drop chances behind these bands are published nowhere we could find, so the table lists the band rather than a percentage. Pools for Titan District, Hidden Leaf and Sin Village are also unpublished; only Alien Planet's six and a couple of Hunter City names are reproducible.
The rarity ladder, and where Secret sits
The tier order is consistent everywhere in the game: Common, then Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, and Secret above all of them. Secret is the band that behaves differently — it appears from hidden elites and top-end pack rolls rather than as a pity reward, which is why a Secret companion is a genuine event and a Mythic one is a matter of patience.
| Band | How it typically arrives |
|---|---|
| Common / Rare | Standard pack spins. Filler rather than a target. |
| Epic | Low-percentage pack result, or a world drop. |
| Legendary | Low-percentage pack result; the band the Alien Card pity ceiling guarantees. |
| Mythic | Very low pack chance, or a named drop from a Time Trial or boss. |
| Secret | Hidden elites and top-end rolls only. Above every other band. |
Where the companion multipliers get quoted
Several published guides open by explaining the rarity ladder and where a Secret sits relative to Mythic, and by recommending which purchases to make first. The recording below is the one we checked for both of those claims.
Confirms the opening routine and that Secret is the top rarity band above Mythical. The transcript was machine-checked for these two points.

- · Any companion's multiplier. Community figures disagree with each other by wide margins, so none is printed.
- · Drop percentages for any band. The bands are published, the probabilities behind them are not.
- · Pity rules outside Alien Planet. Only Alien Planet's is stated by the game.
- · Whether the duplicate soft-cap is real. It is reported by players, not announced by the developer.
